Alpro Ice Cream Offer!

Hello! A little birdy told me (thank you!) about a particularly good offer on Alpro ice cream that is available at Asda at the moment! All of their ice creams are down to just £2.00, making them cheaper than Swedish Glace. Yum!

Asda don't seem to provide an end date for offers, so now would be a good time to try them or stock up if you've already tasted the deliciousness. Since it says rollback, I would think that the offer will be around for at least another week (don't hold me to that though).

Asda also have a few other vegan offers at the moment, such as on Alpro milks (4 for £4) so it'd be well worth having a look around whilst your buying ice cream!

Asda vegan Quorn offer!

Hello! Quite a short, simple post, Asda currently have an offer on Vegan Quorn, as well as Cauldron's vegan sausages and burgers! The offer is 2 for £6.00, however they don't provide an end date that I can find.

Online, fishless fingers and Cauldron burgers are unavailable, but I believe these are also on the offer!

Tesco Offers Everywhere!

Hello! Tesco are have a massive 'free from' offer going on at the moment. All of their own free from items (that I can see!) are on 3 for 2. This includes (but is certainly not limited to) delicious items such as their new vegan cheeses, new millionaires pudding and new cheesecakes! It also includes frozen products such as their ice cream cones and Magnum style ice creams, as well as store cupboard essentials like their salad cream. The offer lasts until 16th May, woohoo!

Not only that, but they also currently have the new and quite popular Freaks of Nature puddings on offer, was £2.30, now £1.30. Whilst this is still a little expensive, now would be a good time to try them if you like the sound of them! Valid until 23rd May.

NOT ONLY THAT! But Tesco are also currently running a lot of offers on Alpro products, including dessert moments half price, was £2.00, now £1.00, yoghurt offers making them only £1.00 and fresh milks only £1.00! Valid until 23rd May. PLUS! Alpro ice creams are just £2.00 until 22nd May.

Easter Egg Deals!

Hello! It's Easter next week and this year has been a particularly good year for vegan Easter Eggs. Since I'm all about saving money, I thought I'd share the deals I know of for Easter Eggs ready for next weekend.

Asda: Asda have a great deal of Kinnerton Easter Eggs which also feature their dark chocolate bar. This is 3 for £10, instead of £5.00 each. So basically buy 2 get one free. I don't know when this runs out.

Morrisons: Morrisons have Moo Free Easter Eggs (bunnycomb is a popular one!) for 3 for £10.00 instead of £4.00 each. If you like these, this is a good deal! Offer is on until 18/04/2017.

Tesco: Tesco have 3 of their own brand eggs on offer. Their eggs with buttons are on offer at 2 for £3.00, usually £2.50 each and their finest caramel egg with truffles is now £3.50 instead of £4.00. They're on offer until 18/04/2017 as well.

Waitrose: New addition! Waitrose also have Moo Free Easter Eggs on offer at 3 for £7.00 until 18/04/2017. This isn't quite as good as Morrisons, but if you don't need or want 3 eggs, this is great! Usually £4.25 from Waitrose. Plus Waitrose have all three flavours online!

Useful loyalty cards!

Hello! I thought I'd write a little post all about the useful loyalty cards I know of which can help save money.

Tesco Clubcard: As you may already know, I love clubcard vouchers. See the benefits here: http://theveganmagpieuk.blogspot.co.uk/2017/02/clubcard-vouchers.html
It's very simple to get points, just by shopping in Tesco. Plus if you have a debit or credit card with Tesco, you can get more points instore, plus points when you shop elsewhere. So technically, you can go and eat in Zizzi, pay with your debit/credit card, get points to go towards your next meal, eat free! Woohoo!

Nectar card: Again, this is mainly with a supermarket, this time Sainsburys. You get points for shopping and can spend them on shopping purchases as well as restaurants, including Pizza Express.

Superdrug Beautycard: Collect points by shopping in Superdrug, who have a vast range of own brand, vegan labelled, cruelty free products (really worth a look if you didn't know this!). They'll also send you exclusive deals and offers which will give you more points (I got an extra 500 points for any purchase once, which equals £5.00). You an then spend these on your favourite vegan products there! They build up quite quickly too if you use Superdrug as your main place for toiletries/cosmetics. Yay!

Body Shop Love Your Body card: This works like the others, buy products you like and gather points. The good one about this though is if you buy just one product before your birthday, they'll send you a £5.00 voucher, no minimum spend. This is a great bonus if you have a favourite item you buy even once a year!

A lot of independent stores also have loyalty schemes and cards, such as my favourite bubble tea shop has a stamp card, as does my doughnut shop. It's always worth asking as they worst they'll do is say 'no', but it may put a thought into their mind. Win win for everyone!

Remember not to get wrapped up in all the fancy deals unless you actually need the products on offer! Hope this has helped. Please let me know if I've missed any good cards.

Hello! Nakd and trek have turned 13 so to celebrate, they are running an offer of 1/3 off everything! Size differences

Hello! When I was looking through all the supermarket offers, it occurred to me that some things looked cheaper but may not be... So I thought I'd write something as a way of saving money! This may seem obvious, but if it helps one person then I'm a happy magpie.

Often things can go on offer (say with £1 off), making it look really appealing, but right next to it could be a larger version of it which actually works out cheaper when comparing the prices per volume.

Here's an example, Asda currently have 340g Whole Earth peanut butter on offer/rollback for £2.00...

However, they also sell a 1kg pack of the exact same peanut butter for £5.85

This actually works out cheaper per 100g (in this instance by 0.3p admittedly, but often it can be more). This is just to show how offers may not be as good as they seem!

Things to consider are:

• Do you need the larger quantity?? Or overall due to your usage will you save by buying the more expensive per 100g.
• Can you eat/use the larger quantity before it goes off?

Usually the price per 100g/kg are shown on the tags, so you can just do a quick check before you pick your size!
